Diagnostics and Roadmaps

We begin with an online assessment to understand your current digital readiness, which is used to create a tailored plan, highlighting opportunities to use technology for gains in productivity, security, and efficiency. This outlines which journey aspects you will benefit from.

Intensive Technical Support

Addresses identified gaps in your digital capabilities. We can facilitate short, medium, or large projects with consultant or academic support, with up to 50% matched funding available. Intensive support involves at least one week of dedicated consultancy to drive significant digital transformation.

Leading Digital Transformation

Designed for senior leaders with a whole-business perspective and the capacity to drive change, this programme equips you with the knowledge and strategies for successful digital transformation. Delivered flexibly through in-person, virtual, and peer-to-peer learning, the 12 to 16-week programme accommodates busy schedules and gives you improvements in real-time throughout the course.

Capital Expenditure Grants

Boost your manufacturing SME's productivity through the Made Smarter Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Grants. These grants support the adoption of Industry 4.0 digital technologies identified in a prior assessment. Secure funding of up to £20,000 with a 50% match for eligible projects that demonstrate clear additionality and alignment with Made Smarter objectives.

Digital Champions

Designed for operational managers leading digital adoption projects, this skills-based course provides an effective toolkit for project delivery through two in-person workshops as well as dedicated coaching support and best-practice site visits. Equip your staff to drive digital change.

Digital Internships

Make an everyday difference in your manufacturing business with a fully funded Made Smarter Digital Internship, connecting you with talented students ready to apply their digital skills. These 2-week internships offer support in areas such as software development and digital strategy implementation and can also support you more widely with your digital transformation.

Eligibility

Made Smarter support is available to SME manufacturing or engineering companies with:

  •  249 employees or less,
  •  A turnover of less than £36 million, or a balance sheet less than £18 million.
  • Additionally, a significant portion of your operations must be based in England
