Our client is an ISO 9001:2015 company with comprehensive in-house engineering facilities including precision machining, fabrication and welding, laser cutting and water jet cutting. Their problem-solving capabilities also extend to reverse engineering of obsolete or hard to replace parts or tooling. The client wish to deploy a Management Information System (MIS) or Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), which is highly configurable and wholly appropriate to the nature of their business, which shall form the backbone of their business upon which all data and information interchange shall take place. This will allow them to better estimate the costs associated with contract work that they bid for or take on, provide visibility of WIP, process orders more efficiently, better manage their liaison with their customer base and suppliers and provide transparency of their day to day operations and KPIs.

Our client is a Surface Treatments and Non-destructive testing company who supply services to the Aerospace Industry. The company was originally formed in 1887 and is believed to be 2nd oldest company in Liverpool. The company predominantly supply to the UK aerospace market but some of the end customers are in Europe and the USA. The company holds all major Aerospace approvals including NADCAP and AS9100. They are looking to step up their digitalisation capability to improve its ability to record, review, respond and report on any situation that may arise during the manufacturing process commencing at the point of quotation through to the delivery of finished goods.

Our client is looking to strengthen the team to support the implementation process of a new ERP system. This project will digitalise shop floor data capture and provide data analytics focused on productivity and customer service. The successful candidate will take a lead role within the implementation team and be responsible for the successful data migration and introduction of the WIP tracking process.

Our client is a manufacturing group that provides fast track, just in time production to brands, retailers and wholesalers. They manufacture a diverse range of print and textile products which are marketed under four product brands. The company has built its reputation as the manufacturing and fulfilment partner of choice for online retailers serving consumers with a diverse range of “made to measure” home products including window blinds, printed matting and digitally printed textiles.

The project will focus on data management across the business, reviewing their current systems, Xero, Zoho, Google sheets and in-house bespoke solutions, considering how they link together, or don’t in some instances. It should also aim to identify the holes where they do not generate or use the data available. The output of the project will help them invest wisely in a robust, integrated platform for gathering, storage, and controlling data that supports accurate and timely reporting and minimises further cyber threats. Preferably this new solution will be implemented in a way that retains what they have learned from the adoption of key applications such as Xero and Zoho.

They aim to use pilot projects to help explore the viability of a product or process change and identify how well the company is equipped to innovate in this area.

Our client specialises in precision cutting and slitting of flexible materials for critical applications in aerospace and other demanding sectors including, automotive, space, healthcare, oil and gas and the 3D printing of composite tapes. They have achieved steady year on year growth since 2014 when they introduced precision narrow slitting of composites for aerospace.

Our client is looking for an intern to develop a strategy to enable sensoring of our machinery. This will provide us with data on machine performance, which will also highlight any potential issues caused through vibrations and irregular readings which may lead to machine failure and unplanned downtime.

Data and Systems Integration

Operating for over 25 years, our client is a communion and bridal accessory supplier, based in Blackburn, Lancashire. Recently, they have moved into the bridal gown industry, supplying and modelling dresses to bridal boutiques and independent buyers nationwide. Currently, the company utilise two manufacturing sites within the North West and also have a boutique for dress and accessory sales. Our client is pushing forward with the recent adoption of an inventory management system called ‘Unleashed’ Software. The introduction of this system is providing the opportunity to further integrate additional systems into the customer relationship and order processing aspects of the business, all whilst improving throughput efficiency.

Currently, due to the skills gap within the workforce, our client is using the services of a third-party software engineer to assist with the integration of the systems across the company. Assistance from a Digital Intern would benefit our client by providing much-needed knowledge and experience towards effectively utilising their industrial systems. Reviewing systems and providing practical feedback towards their efficiency would be largely beneficial to the company and will help them to achieve their goals of digital efficiency and a paperless factory.

Application Engineer

Our client is a privately owned Limited Company, employing 118 employees, producing wood-based metal-ruled dies (tools) and metal engraving tools, mainly for the printing and packaging production industries. They service the UK, Europe, and international markets.

Our client is looking to recruit 2 x Application Engineers to help the development of WEBcnx for their manufacturing shop floor. WEBcnx is a task driven, framework application, integrated with the CAD/CAM software used for the manufacturing of die-cutting tools for the packaging sector and developed by Arden Software. WEBcnx is currently only commercially available for fibreboard packaging producers in folding carton and corrugated packaging manufacturing. The development of this new die shop solution will include the digital transformation of the established manual and paper-based systems into tasks and workflow automation within the software and using the experience and expertise of the client as a leading name in the global die-making industry to assist in commercialising a market-ready product for the future.
