Join Berry & Escott as a Digital Systems & Business Transformation Intern and help us improve how our systems, data and processes work together. You will review our current Microsoft 365, SharePoint, spreadsheet and MIE Trak ERP environment; investigate ERP, CRM and scheduling options; identify practical AI and automation opportunities; and help shape a better SharePoint file structure. Working across departments and with directors, suppliers and our IT provider, you will turn findings into recommendations, business cases and, where appropriate, practical implementation support.

The role will primarily be focused on maintaining and developing our proprietary Revit plugin, though you will be expected to aid other Revit users on issues that arise. The role will sit within ACS’s technical and IT teams. It builds on work which has been in development for several years, and you will be supported by our Design and Innovation Director and other team members throughout the internship.

The current sortation process is highly manual, requiring multiple staff to spread, sort, and handle product. This creates a bottleneck in production, resulting in inefficient labour usage, increased product waste, and constraints on throughput and scalability. CBD Hub UK aims to explore automation opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support sustainable growth. This Digital Technology Internship will provide a structured, evidence-based evaluation of the sortation process and deliver practical, implementable recommendations for automation.

The Awning Company is a UK-based manufacturer of bespoke vehicle awnings and outdoor structures, serving sectors including motorsport, hospitality, and leisure. The business designs and produces high-quality, made-to-measure products using CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS. The company has a strong appetite to adopt digital technologies, particularly DriveWorks, to automate design and sales processes

The company has a strong appetite to adopt digital technologies, particularly DriveWorks, to automate design and sales processes. However, they currently lack the internal time, skills, and structured CAD foundations required to implement such tools effectively. While individual parts (e.g. awnings and cassette boxes) exist in CAD, they are not yet organised into standardised assemblies suitable for automation. In addition, the business does not currently offer customers the ability to configure products online, meaning that sales and quotation processes remain manual.

Acrastyle Ltd is a long-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in high-voltage substation protection and control equipment. As the business continues to grow, there is a need to improve how data flows between core systems, including ERP, Salesforce, email, and engineering design tools.

Currently, several key processes rely on manual data handling, including supplier invoice processing, project setup, and engineering data management. This leads to time delays, increased risk of errors, and limited visibility across departments. This internship will support Acrastyle’s digital transformation by developing practical automation solutions, including the use of emerging AI tools for data extraction, validation and workflow optimisation, while improving integration between systems.

Mextapas UK Ltd produces The Island Tepache, a naturally fermented pineapple drink made from pineapple skins and rich in live cultures, vitamins and minerals. Built on sustainability and circular-economy principles, the business transforms food waste into a premium functional beverage. Our aim is to develop a scalable production model using pineapple by-products while promoting healthy living. Combining Mexican heritage with innovative food manufacturing, we target premium hospitality venues across London and the UK. To support growth, we are implementing digital quality management systems, data-driven production and compliance processes to improve consistency and scalability.

Support the development and commercial scale-up of innovative fermented food and beverage products through laboratory analysis, quality management and regulatory compliance. Conduct product testing, monitor fermentation performance, and analyse scientific data to establish product consistency and manufacturing standards. Develop digital HACCP systems, process monitoring tools and technical reports to support food safety and operational improvement. Research labelling requirements, produce compliant nutritional information and contribute to product documentation. Conduct business-wide systems mapping across manufacturing, retail, hospitality and ecommerce operations. Document processes, analyse stock, order and reporting workflows, and identify manual tasks and duplicate data entry. Review software integrations, APIs and automation opportunities, recommending data synchronisation improvements and bespoke connectors where needed. Research and compare ERP/MRP solutions, assess integration requirements, and support implementation planning. Evaluate reporting processes, recommend dashboards and KPI visibility improvements, and identify AI and digital innovation opportunities to streamline administration and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsible for analysing and improving customer enquiry, quotation and production workflows through structured data management and reporting. The role involves designing data capture processes, creating databases to record product specifications and customer requirements, and analysing enquiry trends to identify growth opportunities. You will develop dashboards, reports and forecasting models to support decision-making, production planning and capacity management, define key performance indicators, and document processes, procedures and recommendations to support future digital transformation and operational efficiency.

Hafferty Joinery Ltd, trading as Hafferty Interiors, is a UK manufacturer and designer of high‑end bespoke fitted furniture and luxury interior environments. The business delivers design‑led, made‑to‑measure interior solutions and works closely with clients, suppliers, and trades throughout the project lifecycle.

As the business grows, design coordination, project documentation, and client‑facing materials are increasingly time‑intensive and rely on manual processes managed primarily by the Managing Director. While the business recognises the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support design coordination and improve efficiency and consistency, AI is not yet embedded into everyday workflows. This Digital Technology Internship will embed an intern within the design coordination function to provide practical support to the Managing Director while identifying, testing, and embedding AI tools that add clear value to design coordination, project documentation, and client presentation activities.

What you’ll be doing: Working alongside the management you will be designing and constructing a customer engagement framework that will integrate directly in Shopify to produce: • a highly trained AI agent processes to manage and inform the customer base • an interactive logistics and stock management system, to track quotation, order flows and physical stock within the warehouse. • design and deploy a digital wall board to view the company activity

Nordell proposes the creation of a fully integrated digital quality system that connects APQP, Control Plans, Failure Modes and digital work instructions into one coherent, high-performing operational framework. Although Nordell already uses digital work instructions, they lack consistency, robust failure-mode content, and operator adoption. This project transforms those assets into a best-in-class system by embedding APQP logic, control plans and visual, video-supported operator instructions.

Responsible for redesigning work instructions, collecting video and visual data, embedding APQP and control plan logic, and building a repeatable digital process for Nordell.

The client is a UK-based manufacturer and global supplier of high-precision prepress machinery for the flexographic and gravure printing industries. Their products include advanced plate mounting and proofing machines which help printing companies improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity in prepress operations. The business operates engineer-to-order processes supported by several established digital systems, including 4D (CRM), Sage (MRP and accounts) and SolidWorks (CAD).
