The successful candidate will work with operational leaders, functional experts and digital specialists to identify, map and automate key business data streams. The aim is to create a single source of truth for performance reporting, replacing manual data handling with automated dashboards and real-time business insights. The role involves analysing data across manufacturing, quality, finance, supply chain, sales and engineering to improve data quality, connectivity and accessibility. A key outcome will be the development of automated dashboards that support daily operations, governance processes and Board-level decision-making.

As the company grows, it is transitioning from one-off custom builds to a more scalable manufacturing model. Investment in digital technologies, structured data, manufacturing planning systems, and standardised processes will improve efficiency, forecasting, scheduling, capacity planning, and decision-making, creating a strong foundation for future growth and product development.

The intern will support Bear Hug’s digital transformation by mapping and improving customer enquiry, quotation, design, production and delivery processes. They will develop structured manufacturing data systems covering product specifications, variants, BoMs, suppliers, lead times and build schedules. The role includes creating data-capture tools, traceable workflows and change-control processes, while improving data quality and consistency. The intern will also support forecasting, capacity planning and production scheduling through data analysis and reporting. Responsibilities include developing dashboards and KPIs, documenting procedures, reviewing performance data, and recommending future digital tools, systems and process improvements.

This project will help Puremess embed data-driven systems across its production, stock management and fulfilment operations. You will work directly with the business to design and implement structured data models, operational dashboards, and digital workflows that improve productivity, traceability and decision-making. A key element involves supporting the selection, setup and integration of a new digital labelling machine. You will configure label formats, connect product and batch data to the labelling workflow, and ensure full alignment with production and compliance requirements.

You will support development of modern engineering capabilities at GEMS, working with experienced engineers on real applications. You will develop MATLAB/Simulink models for vehicle control systems, support model-based design for ECUs, and write scripts to automate simulation, testing and data analysis. You will assist with embedded C/C++ development, validation, debugging, and improving data management and traceability. You will use MATLAB, Simulink, embedded development environments and internal systems. The role delivers workflow efficiency, reusable models, improved data organisation, and hands-on experience in high-performance engineering, embedded systems, and digital transformation.
