However, they currently lack the internal time, skills, and structured CAD foundations required to implement such tools effectively. While individual parts (e.g. awnings and cassette boxes) exist in CAD, they are not yet organised into standardised assemblies suitable for automation. In addition, the business does not currently offer customers the ability to configure products online, meaning that sales and quotation processes remain manual.

K&D Joinery is a well-established London-based bespoke joinery manufacturer, producing high-quality timber windows, doors, staircases, cabinetry (internal joinery) and specialist joinery products for commercial clients, developers, architects, contractors and private customers. Established in 1984, the business operates one of the UK's larger bespoke joinery manufacturing facilities, with significant investment in CNC machinery, CAD design capabilities and modern production equipment.

As part of its continued growth, K&D Joinery is exploring the implementation of ERP to support a more connected and data-driven operating model across the business. The system is being considered to help integrate key functions including sales, customer relationship management, project management, production planning, operational services and business reporting. You will work closely with leadership, office staff and workshop teams to understand how work currently flows through the organisation. The role would suit a master's student or final-year undergraduate.

The internship will focus on using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to analyse the performance of an existing jet pump and identify design improvements that optimise efficiency when driven by an electric motor rather than a conventional internal combustion engine.

What will you be doing? This 12-week internship focuses on supporting Thomas Lyte in preparing for, coordinating, and embedding its new manufacturing ERP system, Sapman v12, mapping and improving workflows, structuring and cleansing the data the system needs, and helping the business move successfully to go-live. You will work closely with the Thomas Lyte leadership team and act as the internship's day-to-day point of contact with Sapman v12's supplier, Sapphire Manufacturing Systems, coordinating requirements, questions, data, and progress between the business and the vendor.

This internship will support Acrastyle’s digital transformation by developing practical automation solutions, including the use of emerging AI tools for data extraction, validation and workflow optimisation, while improving integration between systems.

You will analyse and map customer, supplier, production and project management processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend technology-driven improvements.
