MTM Products' Journey with Made Smarter
The Challenge

Many of MTM Products’ internal systems were homegrown and effective but increasingly limited as the company sought to modernise. The business recognised the need for a stable digital ecosystem, improved automation, and real-time data on production capacity. With limited internal knowledge of digital transformation, MTM Products required external expertise to define a roadmap, explore best practices, and connect with a network of qualified partners.

The Solution

Through the Made Smarter programme, MTM Products accessed expert guidance and funding to implement a flatbed laser cutting machine, bringing automation and efficiency to production. QR code systems were introduced to improve workflow planning, and the team began exploring AI applications. An integrated ERP system is planned to link production, stock, and finance in real time, forming part of a 24-month aggressive digital roadmap.

The Benefits

The upgrades have allowed MTM Products to operate more efficiently, using fewer staff for greater output while gaining better visibility over production capacity. Staff have benefited from training and upskilling, improving digital literacy across the business. Automation has increased throughput and improved operational planning, helping MTM Products stay competitive as these technologies become industry standard.

The Future

MTM Products is committed to continuing its digital transformation. With ERP integration, AI-driven improvements, and a focus on data-led decision-making, the business is well-positioned to scale, innovate, and maintain a competitive edge in the industrial print and manufacturing sectors.
