About Us  

Shire Beds is seeking a motivated and creative Digital Intern to support the modernisation of our sales order processing systems and explore innovative digital technologies across the business. 

This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate with an interest in digital transformation, automation, AI tools, and manufacturing technology. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, operations, and production teams to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience through advanced digital solutions. 

Internship Overview 

We are offering a 12-week Digital Internship to help us strengthen our digital capabilities and support our journey toward smarter manufacturing practices. You will contribute to a focused project that drives value for our digital transformation. 

 
Duration: 6th July 2026  – 28th September 2026 
Location: On-site with the possibility of some hybrid working, Unit 3-8 Branch Mills, Netherfield Road, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, WF13 3JY 
Commitment: Full time, 35 hours per week, 9am – 4pm 

Rate of Pay – £12.71  

 
This internship will provide practical experience in applying digital tools and techniques within the manufacturing sector.

Project Responsibilities 

  • Review and analyse current sales order processing workflows. 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes using advanced digital tools and AI-powered platforms. 

  • Support the implementation of digital systems to improve order tracking, communication, and reporting. 

  • Explore and test digital image generation tools for marketing, product visualisation, and internal workflows. 

  • Research and assist in the development of “digital twin” concepts for factory operations and manufacturing processes. 

  • Create process maps, reports, and recommendations for operational improvements. 

  • Work with internal teams to gather requirements and trial new technologies. 

  • Assist in maintaining digital documentation and training materials. 

  • Support wider digital innovation projects across the business.

Essential Skills 

  • Strong interest in digital technology, AI, and process improvement. 

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools. 

  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset. 

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Desirable Skills 

  • Experience with automation platforms, CRM systems, or workflow tools. 

  • Knowledge of AI image generation platforms or digital content creation. 

  • Understanding of manufacturing systems or Industry 4.0 concepts. 

  • Interest in digital twins, smart factories, or data visualisation. 

  • Basic understanding of databases, ERP systems, or business analytics tools.
