About Us
Pland Stainless Ltd is a UK‑based manufacturing SME specialising in the design and manufacture of high‑quality stainless steel products for healthcare, education, catering, laboratory and commercial washroom environments.
This 12-week internship will support Pland Stainless Ltd’s digital transformation by updating and modernising costing sheets for all core product lines, capturing real shop-floor timings, refreshing material and component costs, and creating a dashboard for visibility. The database will be structured for future ERP integration.
Internship Overview
We are offering a 12-week Digital Internship to help us strengthen our digital capabilities and support our journey toward smarter manufacturing practices. You will contribute to a focused project that drives value for our digital transformation.
Duration: 1st June 2026 – 24th August 2026
Location: On-site (Leeds)
Commitment: Full‑time, 40 hours per week (5 days per week)
Rate of Pay: £12.76
This internship will provide practical experience in applying digital tools and techniques within the manufacturing sector.

Project Responsibilities
As an intern, you will:
- Update costing sheets for all core product lines including all components.
- Observe shop-floor processes and manually time operations (stopwatch).
- Liaise with Purchasing to obtain updated material and component costs.
- Validate existing data and correct discrepancies.
- Build an Excel-based dashboard (Power BI optional) showing cost breakdowns, labor vs material %, and time variances.
- Document a process guide for future updates and ERP integration
Who Should Apply
This internship is ideal for graduates who:
- Have strong Excel skills (Power BI desirable).
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with shop-floor and Purchasing teams.
- Comfortable with manual observation and timing of processes.

Be able to deliver:
- Fully updated costing sheets for all core products.
- Modernised costing database structured for ERP upload (consistent codes, routing times, material costs).
- Excel dashboard for management visibility.
- Process guide for ongoing updates and ERP integration.
ERP Compatibility Requirement
The costing database must be designed with structured fields (product codes, component codes, operation sequence, actual time, material cost, labour cost, total cost) to enable future upload into the ERP system
12‑Week Project Timeline
- Phase 1 (Weeks 1–2): Induction, understand current costing sheets, define scope.
- Phase 2 (Weeks 3–6): Shop-floor timing capture and material cost updates.
- Phase 3 (Weeks 7–9): Update costing sheets and validate data.
- Phase 4 (Weeks 10–12): Build dashboard and process guide, present findings.
