About Us
Marble 4 Life Ltd (trading as Mayfair Worktops), based at 6 St Dunstans Technology Park, Bradford BD4 7HH, is a UK manufacturer and installer of worktops for domestic and commercial customers. A family business with around 50 years of heritage in stone, we are committed to growth, innovation and digital transformation, and have an ambitious plan to use AI and automation to scale our sales operation.
Internship Overview
We are offering a 12-week Digital Internship to help us strengthen our digital capabilities and support our journey toward smarter manufacturing practices. You will contribute to a focused project that drives value for our digital transformation.
Duration: 12 weeks 1st June 2026 – 24th August 2026
Location: On-site at our Bradford head office and manufacturing facility, BD4 7HH
Commitment: Full Time, 40 hours per week (days and pattern flexible by agreement)
Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour
This internship will provide practical, real-world experience in applying AI tools, CRM systems and process automation within a successful UK manufacturing SME.
What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI-powered workflows in a live commercial sales environment
- Practical exposure to Salesforce CRM, Vonage telephony, lead scoring, AI SMS automation and quotation tooling
- Direct mentorship from the company’s digital lead and IT Manager (who holds an MSc in AI)
- A measurable, portfolio-ready project with defined KPIs (response time, conversion rate, admin time saved)
- Insight into how a digitally ambitious manufacturing SME makes decisions, scopes pilots and measures ROI
- A strong reference and the potential to discuss longer-term opportunities for the right candidate
Project Responsibilities
As an intern, you will work on our AI-Enabled Sales Workflow Project, with the goal of reducing the time it takes us to respond to inbound enquiries and increasing our sales conversion rate. Specifically, you will:
- Map our current end-to-end lead journey, from website enquiry through Salesforce CRM and Vonage dialler to quotation, and identify where time is being lost
- Help design and prototype an AI lead-scoring model so the sales team can prioritise the “highest intent” enquiries first
- Build or configure automated SMS, email and call-booking responses (including chatbot/AI assistant tooling) to engage leads within minutes
- Automate the formatting and drafting of customer quotations to free up sales staff for live selling
- Support early experimentation with a local LLM and internal knowledge assistant trained on our product, pricing and process information
- Set up clear before-and-after metrics (lead response time, conversion rate, admin hours saved) and present findings to the directors at the end of the placement
- Document the workflow, configurations and prompts so the business can maintain and build on the work after the internship ends
Following successful progress on this project:
- The opportunity to plan AI adoption within the business, including data analysis within production.
Who Should Apply
This internship is ideal for current students or recent graduates who are:
- Studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Business Information Systems, Digital Marketing, or a closely related field
- Comfortable working with at least some of the following: Salesforce or another CRM, REST APIs, Python or JavaScript, low-code/no-code automation tools (Zapier, Make, Power Automate), prompt engineering, or basic data analysis in Excel/Google Sheets
- Genuinely interested in applied AI and how it can solve real commercial problems, not just theoretical use cases
- Confident communicators who can talk to non-technical sales and operations staff, ask good questions and explain their work clearly
- Proactive, self-starting problem-solvers who are comfortable scoping a project, making sensible assumptions and checking in regularly
- Keen to gain real-world SME experience in a hands-on, fast-moving family business
- Able to commute to our Bradford site (BD4 7HH) for the duration of the placement
