The Business:

We are a growing SIPs (Structural Insulated Panel) design and installation company with a small but dynamic design team. We are looking for a motivated University Intern to join us for several months, supporting our design, estimating, and project delivery teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist area of sustainable construction and develop practical skills in BIM, design systems, and project workflows.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting our design team (Revit + specialist SIPs plugin) with:
    • Updating and maintaining our 2D detail library within Revit
    • Supporting design meetings with architects and clients
    • Helping to improve and update design templates and systems
  • Supporting the development of product information documents (graphic design and presentation tasks)
  • Working with our Estimator using Blubeam and custom online estimating tools to prepare job quotes
  • Reviewing production drawings to produce Bills of Quantities for materials and fixings
  • Exploring opportunities to improve workflows through automation (e.g. Revit programming, Zapier integrations, API/webhook automations)

What you’ll gain:

  • Practical experience in Revit (2D and 3D modelling with SIPs)
  • Exposure to real-world architectural and client design meetings
  • Insights into estimating and project costing workflows
  • Skills in BIM template management and systems development
  • Experience with automation and digital workflows in construction
  • Mentorship from our design and estimating teams in a collaborative environment

About you:

  • Currently studying Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Revit (essential)
  • Interest in modern methods of construction and sustainable building systems
  • Bonus skills (not essential):
    • Graphic design (Canva, Adobe or similar)
    • Blubeam or estimating tools
    • Knowledge of Zapier or similar automation platforms

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our permanent design staff and gain valuable industry experience.
