Made Smarter Internship – Information for applicants

  • The success of embedding digital transformation, analysing the data generated by new systems or supporting new technological processes in a organisation is often dependent upon the skills and knowledge available.

  • A Made Smarter internship matches interns that have relevant technical experience and knowledge, with a SME or micro-organisation lacking the resource to adopt digital technologies and methodologies.
  • The intern is employed and supervised by the business, supported by the Made Smarter Adoption team from London and Partners.
  • The internship will focus on a project over a period of up to 12-weeks full time (part-time options may also be available).
  • The funded intern will work on a defined project during that period to support digital technology adoption in the company.

What is it like working here?

MDM Props is a specialist creative fabrication company delivering bespoke artistic and structural solutions for artists, cultural institutions, luxury brands, and large-scale commercial clients. Operating across the UK, Dubai, and Lebanon, the business combines deep craft expertise, spanning metalwork, sculpting, CNC fabrication, mould-making, and scenic finishing, with end-to-end project management, supporting everything from single commissions to complex international installations.

As MDM continues to expand its global reach and project portfolio, there is a strategic need to modernise internal systems, strengthen coordination across its multi-site operations, and improve visibility across production, logistics, and client delivery. Current processes span multiple locations and disciplines, creating challenges around project tracking, resource planning, and cross-team communication.

  • Introducing time tracking and workload visibility tools to support capacity planning and operational insight.

  • Supporting integration between operational workflows and finance systems to improve reporting accuracy and reduce duplication.

  • Creating system documentation, onboarding guides, and process notes to support long-term sustainability.
