Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) Design Internship
About The Business: We are a growing SIPs (Structural Insulated Panel) design and installation company with a small but dynamic design team. We are looking for a motivated University Intern to join us for several months, supporting our design, estimating, and project delivery teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist area of sustainable construction and develop practical skills in BIM, design systems, and project workflows.
Overview: Assisting our design team (Revit + specialist SIPs plugin) with updating and maintaining our 2D detail library within Revit. As well as supporting design meetings with architects and clients and helping to improve and update design templates and systems.
Desirable Skills: Practical experience in Revit (2D and 3D modelling with SIPs)
Job Description:
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting our design team (Revit + specialist SIPs plugin) with:
- Updating and maintaining our 2D detail library within Revit
- Supporting design meetings with architects and clients
- Helping to improve and update design templates and systems
- Supporting the development of product information documents (graphic design and presentation tasks)
- Working with our Estimator using Blubeam and custom online estimating tools to prepare job quotes
- Reviewing production drawings to produce Bills of Quantities for materials and fixings
- Exploring opportunities to improve workflows through automation (e.g. Revit programming, Zapier integrations, API/webhook automations)

About you:
- Currently studying Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with Revit (essential)
- Interest in modern methods of construction and sustainable building systems
- Bonus skills (not essential):
- Graphic design (Canva, Adobe or similar)
- Blubeam or estimating tools
- Knowledge of Zapier or similar automation platforms
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our permanent design staff and gain valuable industry experience.
