Overview: Conduct business-wide systems mapping across manufacturing, retail, hospitality and ecommerce operations. Document processes, analyse stock, order and reporting workflows, and identify manual tasks and duplicate data entry. Review software integrations, APIs and automation opportunities, recommending data synchronisation improvements and bespoke connectors where needed. Research and compare ERP/MRP solutions, assess integration requirements, and support implementation planning. Evaluate reporting processes, recommend dashboards and KPI visibility improvements, and identify AI and digital innovation opportunities to streamline administration and enhance operational efficiency.
Desirable Skills: Experience in systems integration, automation, AI and business transformation.
Job Description:
The intern will:
Systems Mapping & Process Analysis
- Conduct a detailed mapping exercise of business systems across manufacturing, retail, hospitality and e-commerce operations.
- Document current business processes and information flows.
- Analyse stock, order and reporting workflows.
- Identify duplicate data entry and manual administrative activities.
- Create process flow diagrams and systems architecture maps.
Data & Systems Integration
- Review current software integrations across the business.
- Investigate APIs, native integrations and software connectors.
- Assess opportunities to automate data flows between systems.
- Identify opportunities for data synchronisation and workflow automation.
- Produce recommendations for bespoke connector development where required.
ERP/MRP Research & Readiness
- Research ERP and MRP solutions suitable for a manufacturing, retail and hospitality business.
- Compare systems against operational requirements.
- Review integration capabilities with existing platforms including
- Shopify and finance systems.
- Assist in developing an ERP implementation roadmap.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Review current reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities for automated reporting and dashboards.
- Support the development of improved management information systems.
- Contribute to recommendations for KPI monitoring and data visibility improvements.
AI & Digital Innovation
- Explore AI-assisted reporting and administration tools.
- Research workflow automation opportunities.
- Identify areas where technology can reduce administrative burden.
- Produce recommendations for future AI adoption across the business.
