Overview: As a fast-moving SME, we offer interns the chance to work close to real business challenges, make a visible impact, and gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment where digital tools, data and smarter ways of working are becoming increasingly important. We are offering a 12-week Digital Internship to help us strengthen our digital capabilities and support our journey toward smarter manufacturing practices. You will contribute to a focused project that drives value for our digital transformation.

Job Description:

This internship will provide practical experience in applying digital tools and techniques within the manufacturing sector.

Project Responsibilities

As part of this 12-week placement, you will support a focused digital operations improvement project aimed at strengthening performance management and decision-making within our operations team.

You will:

  • Work with the Head of Operations to understand current planning processes, data flows and service level performance within our direct-to-consumer channel.
  • Use data from our ERP system, alongside existing planning tools and processes, to identify opportunities to improve visibility, decision-making and productivity.
  • Help develop and test practical digital operations or performance management tools, such as dashboards, trackers, reports or workflow improvements.
  • Explore where AI-enabled tools could support colleagues by reducing manual analysis, simplifying decision-making or highlighting key actions.
  • Create clear standard operating procedures and user guidance to support the successful adoption of any new tools or process changes.
  • Provide training and handover support to colleagues who will use the tools after the placement ends.
  • Work directly with the Head of Operations, with input from the wider operations leadership team.
  • If time allows, support additional improvement opportunities linked to the continued growth of the business.
