Overview: This project will help Puremess embed data-driven systems across its production, stock management and fulfilment operations. You will work directly with the business to design and implement structured data models, operational dashboards, and digital workflows that improve productivity, traceability and decision-making. A key element involves supporting the selection, setup and integration of a new digital labelling machine. You will configure label formats, connect product and batch data to the labelling workflow, and ensure full alignment with production and compliance requirements.

Desirable Skills: We are looking for a motivated, detail-orientated student with a genuine interest in operational systems, data and manufacturing processes. Technical skills: - Strong analytical capability, with practical experience in spreadsheet modelling, data structuring, dashboard design or database-style thinking - Ability to map real-world processes and translate practical business activity into consistent, documented workflows - Understanding of how operational data can be used to support forecasting, stock planning and productivity measurement - Confidence working with detail across product variants, materials, packaging components and lead times. Personal qualities: - Clear and effective communicator, able to translate data and analytical findings into practical, actionable recommendations for a small manufacturing business - Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small business environment where initiative is valued - A genuine interest in sustainable manufacturing, natural products, or operational improvement is a distinct advantage

Job Description:

This project will help Puremess embed data-driven systems across its production, stock management and fulfilment operations. You will work directly with the business to design and implement structured data models, operational dashboards, and digital workflows that improve productivity, traceability and decision-making.
A key element involves supporting the selection, setup and integration of a new digital labelling machine. You will configure label formats, connect product and batch data to the labelling workflow, and ensure full alignment with production and compliance requirements.
This is a hands-on, high impact placement where your work will directly shape how a growing manufacturer plans, tracks and fulfils its products.

What you will be doing
- Mapping current production and fulfilment workflows, including batch, labelling and packaging stages
- Building structured data tables covering orders, products, ingredients, packaging components, batch records and inventory
- Designing data capture forms and implementing validation rules to improve data quality and consistency
- Supporting the specification, installation and initial operation of the digital labelling system
- Integrating labelling processes with production data to ensure accurate batch and product identification
- Creating dashboards for production planning, stock levels, and work in progress tracking
- Defining and monitoring KPIs for productivity, throughput, lead times and fulfilment performance
- Documenting standard operating procedures and preparing clear handover materials
