Overview: Responsible for analysing and improving customer enquiry, quotation and production workflows through structured data management and reporting. The role involves designing data capture processes, creating databases to record product specifications and customer requirements, and analysing enquiry trends to identify growth opportunities. You will develop dashboards, reports and forecasting models to support decision-making, production planning and capacity management, define key performance indicators, and document processes, procedures and recommendations to support future digital transformation and operational efficiency.

Job Description:
Reporting to Ben Goldsmith, Managing Director
The intern will work directly with the Managing Director to develop a structured digital framework that converts customer engagement and product enquiry information into operational intelligence.
Responsibilities include:
- Map existing customer enquiry, quotation and production workflows.
- Design and implement data capture processes for bespoke furniture and hospitality product enquiries. Create structured databases to record customer requirements, product specifications, dimensions, materials, finishes and lead times.
- Analyse historical and current enquiries to identify recurring product types and emerging manufacturing opportunities.
- Develop dashboards to monitor demand trends, enquiry patterns and product categories.
- Create a product opportunity framework to support future product development decisions.
- Support the integration of engagement data with production planning activities.
- Develop reporting tools that provide visibility of potential future workload and resource requirements.
- Define and document key performance indicators relating to enquiries, conversions, product demand and production readiness.
- Produce standard operating procedures for data collection, reporting and analysis.
- Present recommendations to support future manufacturing growth and process improvement.
- The intern will gain practical experience in digital manufacturing, data analytics, business intelligence, process mapping, systems integration and product development within a growing manufacturing SME.
Intern Skills:

- Understanding of data collection, cleansing and analysis.
- Experience using Excel, Power BI, databases or similar analytical tools.
