About The Business: CBD HUB UK (Chalice Supplements), a fast-growing supplement products manufacturer experiencing increasing production demands, is exploring practical ways to use artificial intelligence and agile software development to improve its internal operations.
Overview: CBD HUB UK wants to move beyond costly or inflexible off-the-shelf systems by creating focused digital tools that respond directly to business needs. This placement will support the development of AI-enabled SaaS solutions, process automation and a repeatable framework for responsible development, with clear standards for governance, security, data protection and documentation. The placement will explore how artificial intelligence, agentic development methods and rapid application development can be used to create focused, cost-effective software tools that respond directly to genuine business needs. Job Description:
The intern will use AI-assisted and agentic software development methods, alongside low-code or rapid application development tools, to design and test at least three functional web-based prototypes. At least one prototype will be progressed into a usable internal SaaS tool for stakeholder testing.
The work may include:

- Testing and documentation.
A central part of the placement will be helping CBD HUB UK establish a repeatable and responsible approach to future software development. The intern will contribute to a structured framework covering business problem assessment, requirements gathering, AI-assisted development, testing, deployment, security, data protection, AI governance, decision-making guardrails, documentation and knowledge retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with non-technical stakeholders to understand operational requirements
- Mapping and analysing business processes
- Turning business challenges into software requirements and development briefs
- Building prototypes and internal tools using AI-assisted development methods
- Designing workflows, user roles, permissions and data structures
- Configuring automation processes and appropriate integrations
- Testing solutions and gathering user feedback
- Recording development decisions and producing clear technical and user documentation
- Contributing to governance standards, security considerations and responsible AI guardrails
- Presenting project outputs, findings and recommendations to CBD HUB UK’s leadership.
