Digital Internship Opportunity: Business Analyst Intern – Marine Civils Market

Duration: Flexible between 8-12 weeks
Location: Newton Aycliffe
To support market analysis, strategic planning, and data-driven decision making for projects within the marine civils sector, including ports, harbors, coastal defenses, and offshore infrastructure. The intern will work with commercial and operational teams to provide insights into market trends, competitor activity, cost data, and project performance.
What you’ll be working on:
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct research on the marine civils industry, including trends, regulations, competitors, and client needs.
- Support the analysis of UK and international markets, identifying growth opportunities.
- Establish and Maintain databases of key projects, clients, and competitors.
Data Collection & Reporting:
- Collect and interpret data from internal and external sources (e.g., project performance data, industry reports,
- Tekmar group network / contacts).
- Develop dashboards and summaries to visualize market and project insights.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for senior management

Skills Required
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Civil Engineering, Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture or a related field.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau).
- Interest in marine infrastructure, civil engineering, and market strategy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledge or coursework in infrastructure, environmental studies, or coastal engineering.
- Familiarity with procurement practices and contract types in civil infrastructure.
- Enthusiasm for sustainability and innovation in marine construction.
