About the event

The workshop will focus on practical applications and provide hands-on experience with the different types of IoT technology. You will be encouraged to ask questions and share ideas throughout the workshop.

What will you gain from this workshop?

By the end of the workshop, you will have a better understanding of the IoT, its potential applications, and how to set up and manage an IoT system safely and securely.

Understanding IoT

What is a ‘dumb’ device? So what makes an object ‘Smart’? This workshop is designed to provide an introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) and its potential applications in the workplace.

The workshop will cover topics such as the different types of IoT technology and devices, the benefits of using IoT, and the basics of setting up and managing an IoT system, providing you with key take-aways that can be applied in your workplace. In addition, you will learn about the potential security risks associated with IoT and the best practices for mitigating these risks.
